Ziarat of sacred area
From Imam Mahdi (As)
For the day of Ashoora
Peace is due to Adam selected among His creatures. Peace is due to Sheith, His friend and best choice. Peace is due to Edris standing for God by His proof. Peace is due to Noah, whose call is accepted. Peace is due to Hud provided from God by His help. Peace is due Saleh, God turned to him by His generosity. Peace is due Abraham whom God awarded by His friendship. Peace is due to Ismail whom God substituted by a great slaughter from His Paradise.
To clear understanding the points mentioned in the last statement a little consideration is needed. It is revealed in chapter 37 that Abraham (AS) sees many dreams about slaughtering his son. When Ismail (AS) grew enough to work with his father, Abraham (AS) asks him to see his opinion. He says, ‘O my father! Do whatever you are ordered, and you will find, if God will, that I will be one of the patient’.
So when both of them submitted to God’s command, he put his forehead down for slaughtering him, We called him, O Abraham! You considered that your vision true, We thus reward the righteous. Indeed, it was a difficult and exiting test for him, and We substituted a great slaughter for Ismail, and We left his slaughter in subsequent generations. Peace is due to Abraham, in that manner, We reward the righteous; surly he is one of Our believing servants. 37: 102- 111
To slaughter means a brutal killing of people by slitting the throat.
In the Quranic revelation “a great slaughter” implies tow meanings: it means killing people not brutally in large number but slitting them by throats like butchering animals for food. And one can get the great misery from God and the worst torture or the great slaughter from another revelation when God saved the children of Israel from the people of Pharaoh who imposed them the worst torture which was noting but slaughtering their sons and sparing their daughters. 2: 49
Relating to such a perplexing story, the Lord God has revealed like this:
any disaster happens to you or on earth is recorded in the book even before We bring it into existence. Actually this is easy for God. 57: 22
Considering other revelations is required to understand how the prediction of future events is that easy for God.
As God created the seven heavens, He created the earth similarly. His commands continuously come down among them to let you know that He has actually power over all things, and actually God has comprehensive knowledge of everything. 65: 12
“Actually your Lord is God who created the heavens and earth in six periods of time then He made straight His throne of authority. He continuously covers night by day which quickly seeks it. And the sun, the moon and stars are committed to His commands. Truly the realm of creation and command entitles Him. Blessing is Allah, the Lord of the universe.” 7: 54
“Allah is He who created the heavens, earth and what is between them in six periods of time then He made straight His throne of authority. Other than Him, you have neither protector nor intercessor. Why do you not bear in mind, while He eternally makes plan from the heaven to the earth?
“Do not ever think that God is unaware from what oppressors do every day.” 14: 42
What we known about God is that He has a through knowledge ahead of time, even before things come into existence or events take place. But it does not necessarily mean that God has doomed things to be done. It is true that God makes affairs flow through means. Adopting such an absolutely wrong speculation would overturn the foundation of all truths. That is, Yazid and his adherents were not guilty because the Lord God committed them to do, and Imam Hussein (AS) should not be highly appreciated by God because he was doomed to be martyred. In fact, God (SWT) saved Ismail and substituted his sacrifice in future generations for two reasons. The first one, the prophet Mohammad and Hussein, peace be upon them, should come to this world. The second one, if Ismail were killed by his father would prove nothing but absolute devotion of both to God, whereas the martyrdom of Imam Hussein (AS), instead of Ismail (AS) clearly revealed the criminalities of Omay-yad and their damaging effects for Islam.
This Ziarat has stipulated a great slaughter from Paradise.
Since Imam Hussein had a distinguished personality in the eye of God, the tragedy of Karbala leading to his martyrdom was considered a great slaughter by Allah.
The following reasons prove the outstanding personality of Imam Hussein (AS)
A-Imam Hussein’s appealing at the scene of Mobaheleh was so important that God commanded the prophet to bring him when he was just a baby. 3: 61
B-The verse of absolute and all-purpose purification displays that Imam Hussein (AS) is absolutely purified from every sort of impurity. 33: 33
C- Imam Hussein (AS) was included, a distinguished feature, among those who were described in chapter 76, “the servants of God known as the nearest ones”, with as much as tree strange privileges:
1- Their Lord Himself makes them have pure drink.
2-Tasnim is other highly blessed spring in Paradise, from which only the servants of God have the right to drink unmixed
3-Kafur is another blessing spring in Paradise amidst others, of which the servants of God only have the authority to let it flow as they wish, exactly the same as when chewing food, a watery, tasteless liquid known as saliva oozes from mouth to lubricate eaten foods.
.
D-According to the Old Testament, in the book of Jeremiah, chapter 46, verse 10, the Lord God of hosts (a being upon whom others depend) holds a sacrifice in the North-Country by the river Euphrates. So on the day of vengeance, He will avenge Himself on His foes, and the sword will devour and be satisfied by drinking their blood.
E-In the sacred Hadith of clothes, the Lord God said to angels and the dwellers of the heavens that He created the universe for the sake of those who are under the clothes. When the Archangel Gabriel asked, who are under the clothes? The Lord God said, ‘they are the family of prophecy, the source of mission, and the place of the angels to come back and forth. They are Fatemah, Her father, her husband, her children Hassan and Hussein.” As you can see, Fatemah (AS) is the crucial point, according to God’s description, among the people of the cloth.
F-This is good news from God to His servants who believed and did good deeds that the prophet asks no reward for his mission but love for his near relatives, and whoever commits good deed, We increase his goodness for it, because God is most Forgiving, most thankful. 42: 23
G- When Adam received from his Lord some words with which he turned Him in repentance, God turned him in forgiveness; indeed, He turns mostly in forgiveness and is most Merciful. The text which Adam received to be forgiven was like this: O the Praiseworthy! By the truth of Mohammad, O the most High! By the truth of Ali, O the Creator! By the truth of Fatemah, O the Beneficent! By the truth of Hassan, O the Long-standing Beneficent! By the truth of Hussein, turn to me in forgiveness.
H-Fatemah (AS) was borne after the prophet, peace be upon him and his family, was entertained by the fruits of Paradise in his midnight journey to the heavens. As a result, Fatemah and her progeny such as Hassan and Hussein (AS), are fruits from Paradise.
That is why it is mentioned in this Ziarat that Ismail (AS) was substituted by Hussein (AS) as a great slaughter from Paradise.
Peace is due to Isaac whom God put prophecy in his progeny. Peace is due to Jacob whom God restored his sight by His mercy. Peace is due to Joseph whom God saved from pit by His Majesty. Peace is due to Moses that God split the sea for him by His power. Peace is due to Aaron whom God singled out by His prophecy. Peace is due to Shoaib whom God helped over his people. Peace is due to David whom God forgave his misdeed. Peace is due to Solomon to whom God humiliated jinn by His Might. Peace is due to Ayoob whom God cured his disease. Peace is due to Yoonos that God fulfilled His guaranteed promise. Peace is due to Ozeir whom God revived after his death. Peace is due to Zakaria who was patient in his ordeal. Peace is due to John whom God brought near to Himself by his martyrdom. Peace is due to Jesus, God’s soul and His word. Peace is due to Mohammad, God’s beloved and His selected one. Peace is due to the Commander of the faithful, Ali the son of Abitaleb, singled out by his brotherhood. Peace is due to Fatemah Zahra, his daughter. Peace is due to Aba-Mohammad Hassan, his father’s trustee and successor. Peace is due to Hussein who generously granted his blood-life. Peace is due to him who openly and secretly obeyed God. Peace is due to the one in whose dirt God made a cure for everything and turned his dome a place for positive response to sincere calls.
The most Merciful God has already made many plants medicinal to cure people through His unlimited Mercy. Is it strange at all for God to make the dirt of him who generously granted his life to revive the most pleasant religion in His eye?
The most Merciful God has revealed that good deed and misdeed are not equal, and He has promised that those who bring good deed would receive as many as ten times. 6: 160
No religion whatsoever would be accepted by God other than Islam, and Imam Hussein (AS) resuscitated this religion absolutely taintless accompanied by his faithful siblings, relatives and companions. Therefore what would be the reward of such unparalleled sacrifice which God Himself has named “great slaughter” other than curing virtue and admitting calls?
Peace is due to him under whose dome sincere call will be positively answered.
Should not be greatly honored the one who devotedly by his sacrifice revived God’s name, His religion and human nature once more after being declined? Therefore his resting-place (dome) is honored to be visited by his lovers, and angels who frequently visit him day and night and pray for his visitors. That is why calls are usually answered positively under his dome as God has revealed before. The angels carrying the Throne of authority and those are in its vicinity extol the praise of their Lord and ask forgiveness for those who are faithful. And they say, ‘O Lord! Your Knowledge and Mercy encompass everything, thus forgive those who repent and follow your path and keep them free from the punishment of Hell. 40: 7
Peace is due to him whose children are Imams appointed by God. Peace is due to the son of the seal of the prophets. Peace is due to the son of the master of legal guardians. Peace is due to the son of Fatemah Zahra. Peace is due to the son of Khadijeh, the great. Peace is due to the son of the lotus tree in the ultimate place of goal سدره المنتهی) (. Peace is due to the son of the Garden of eternal rest ((جنّه الماوی. Peace is due to the son of Zamzam and Safa.
This part of Ziarat would remind us that Hussein (AS) is the memory of Ismail (AS) who survived in waterless desert near Safa. When his mother (Hajar) was in an extreme disappointment, the most Merciful God suddenly made the spring of Zamzam visible for her to keep alive her son Ismail.
Peace is due him sprinkled with blood. Peace is due to him whose tents were torn apart. Peace is due to the one who is the fifth member of the people of clothes. Peace is due to the one who was made the most alien of aliens. It means the reputation of Imam (AS) was tainted so damaging that the vulgar thought he was the most alien to their religion.
Peace is due to the master of martyrs. Peace is due to him who is killed by bastards. Peace is due to him who is the resident of Karbala. Peace is due to the one for whom the heaven’s angels mourned. Peace is due to him whose children are sinless. Peace is due to the leader of religion. Peace is due to the centers of all proofs. Peace is due to the master of spiritual leaders. Peace is due to the bloodstained chests prompted from multiple wounds. Peace is due to the dried lips resulted from dehydration. Peace is due to the snatched minds. Peace is due to the stolen souls. Peace is due to the naked corpse. Peace is due to the faded bodies from blood, water and energy drainage. Peace is due to the poured out bloods. Peace is due to the cut off members. Peace is due to the raised heads on spears. Peace is due to the exposed women. These statements express the embarrassing situation that Yazid and his followers brought up for the Imam (AS), his innocent children, loyal relatives, faithful companions and survivors in the scene of Karbala.
Peace is due to the proof of the Lord of the universe. Peace is due to you and your virtuous fathers. Peace is due to his seeking martyrdom sons. Peace is due to his helping children. Peace is due to attending angels in your resting place. Peace is due to you who are killed by oppression. Peace is due to your poisoned brother. Peace is due to Ali, the great. Peace is due to your suckling baby Ali, the little. Peace is due to the stolen bodies. Peace is due to his close family. Peace is due to the worriers in waterless deserts. Peace is due to the distant from homelands. Peace is due to the buried without shrouds. Peace is due to the severed heads from bodies. Peace is due to long-suffering expectant. Peace is due to the oppressed with no help. Peace is due to the resident in clean dirt. Peace is due to the possessor of an exalted dome. Peace is due to whom the Exalted God purified. Peace is due to one of whom Gabriel is proud. Peace is due to the one whom Mikail whispered in his cradle. Peace is due to him whose protecting covenant was violated. Peace is due to him whose sacredness was raped. Peace is due to him whose blood was poured oppressively. Peace is due to him washed by the blood of his multiple wounds. Peace is due to him whose blood was sipped a little at a time by the stab of spears. . Peace is due to him whose harming was permitted lawfully. Peace is due to him who was slaughtered from back. Peace is due to him who was buried by the people of villages. Peace is due to him whose aorta was cut. Peace is due to him who was defending religion without help. Peace is due to him whose gray hair dyed by blood. Peace is due to the one with dusty cheeks. This statement reflects Khooly’s act with the sacred head of Imam (AS). For fear from his wife, Khooly put it on the aches of the oven of bread. Peace is due to the stolen body. Peace is due to the one with teeth knocked by rod. When the sacred head of Imam Hussein (AS) was reciting a part of the Holly Qur'an in front of Yazid and all his guests, he anxiously and nervously knocked the lip and teeth of the sacred head that may make it silent. It was one of the miracles, among many others, which happened after the tragedy of Karbala to display the outrageous crime of criminals not only to the people present at the scene but to others who live later.
The recitation of this segment of the Holly Qur'an would indicate many points. It simply says, ‘Do you think that the fellow of Cave and the Inscription tablet were only of Our wonderful miracles? 18: 9
Peace is due to the raised head on spear. Peace is due to the naked corpses left in desert in order that the aggressive wolves may tear them into pieces and ferocious animals come and go to them frequently.
Unlike any religious or sanitary principle, the enemy should burry the corps of martyrs but they did not cover them purposely for two reasons:
1-Those who disregard the great Devine principles would never take care of any other relatively unimportant commands.
2-They left martyrs’ bodies on the hot sand of desert purposely that the decay process of time may wipe out their trace or the hungry and ferocious animals tear and devour them completely, therefore nothing would be left from them to make shrine for their visitors.
Not only were their bodies liable to passing-time to decay in such hot weather by the grace of God nor the ferocious and hungry animals tore them apart either by the will of Allah. This case happened just after their martyrdom to prove that Imam (AS) and his loyal escort were surely the focus of God’s protection and the criminals must pay for it. Therefore the most Merciful God has stately confirmed such claim throughout the Holy Qur'an.
“We punish the criminals but helping the true faithful is Our duty.” 30: 47
“Most surely We help Our messengers and those who believed both in this life and the day when the witnesses will take stand.” 40: 51
When Pharaoh asked Moses about his Lord, our Lord is the one who grants the creation of everything then its guidance, Moses replied. 20: 50
Our Lord has guided man both genetically and legislatively. Killing His Devine envoys such as martyrizing Imam Hussein (AS) for blocking legislative guidance means nothing but to oppose, fight against the Lord, or be a hard-liner. And those who associate their wishes with Allah commit serious crime. That is why association with God is considered a great oppression, as Luqman minded it to his son. 31: 13
Truly, the fine of those who fight against Allah and His messenger and attempt to make corruption on earth is to be killed, or crucified, or their hands and feet cut off on opposite side, or banished from the land. This is just their humiliation in this life while their punishment will be greater in the life to come. 5: 33
Under Omayyad dynasty all sorts of morality, humanity, or belief were corrupt. And Imam Hussein (AS), according to his solid belief in Allah, had no choice unless to get back all corruptions by generous spending his blood-life to prove that Omayyad dynasty’s system was totally outrageous. And to prove that Imam Hussein was absolutely right and Yazid was totally wrong, the Lord God supported him by miracles after miracles. And it is important to remind that the kind of miracles seen after the Imam’s martyrdom were not strange, because such miracles and the likes are clearly stipulated throughout the word of God.
1-As for the seven sleepers of the Cave and the Inscription Tablet, the Lord God resurrected them after 300 years to ask each other, “How long have you been here? We have been here a day or a part of a day.” And in this way, we let them know that God’s promise is true and there is no doubt about the Hour (The Day of Judgment). 18: 21
Since during some 300 years the outward aspects of the seven sleepers had not changed at all, they thought they have been there one day or a part of a day.
2-And remember when Abraham said, ‘O my Lord! Show me how you revive the dead? Do you not believe? He asked. I wish to calm down my heart, he replayed. He said, ‘Take four different birds, know and cut them into peaces, mixed them, place on every mountain a peace of them, call them to come to you and they will come to you immediately. And know that Allah is surely Mighty and All-Wise. 2: 260
To have a personal experience about his question concerning how his Lord revives the dead, the Most High God commands Abraham (AS) to kill birds and call them back to return him immediately. Did Abraham’s call revive the birds, or it was only the will of God which revived them? Was it Moses’ job to transform his rod to a sneak, or it was God’s will to make such transformation? Was it Jesus (AS) to create a bird, or actually it was God who created it?
As we know the body itself, not supported by the soul, is good for nothing, even to keep itself from decay. It is the soul which makes it efficient to do everything, while the Most Merciful God has revealed that the soul is absolutely under His command.
Considering the previous and specially the following revelation will make clear why the head of Imam Hussein (AS) did not decay but recited the Holy Qur'an.
To make people feel sure about the truth of anything, there are three stages of certitude: 1) the knowledge certitude, 2) the right certitude, 3) the absolute certitude. To convince them by argument, such as the argument between Abraham and Namrud, is the first stage of knowledge certitude. To persuade them by looking, such as when Abraham personally revived the birds, is the right certitude. But when a person himself is the subject a test, he will reach the highest degree of certitude known as absolute certitude. When reading about the burning effect of fire, one gets the first degree of certitude. Through seeing the consuming effect of fire, one gets the second degree of certitude. But when one personally feels the damaging effect of fire, it will bring about a firm conviction of certitude, of which we will find in the following revelation.
3-Or consider the same when Uzair passed a town which was fallen on its roofs. He said to himself how would Allah revive this after its death? So Allah put him to death for a hundred years and then revived him, and asked him, ‘ who long have you stayed here? He replied, ‘I have been here a day or a part of a day. Allah said, “No way, you have been here a hundred years, look at your food and drink, they were not subject to passing years and years. But look at your ass to make you a sign for people, and look how We construct the bones, then cover them with flesh. When he realized what happened, he said, ‘I know that Allah has power over all things. 2: 259
In the previous revelation, Abraham said, ‘How do you revive the dead? So Allah showed him how fast He revived the dead birds. In this revelation, Ozair said to himself, ‘How Allah will revive the dead of the town. Therefore Allah made him die to make him a sign for people.
Plants are living things to grow and bear fruits. They are not to burn or speak, in Sinai Mont, a special tree burned to attract Moses during the dark night and talked to him to tell him that the one who is talking to him is his Lord. When a tree, which is not supped to talk, can talk; why shouldn’t a cut-head, which is not supposed to speak, talk?
O master! Peace is due to you and the angels hovering around your dome, surrounding your grave, making circuits your yard, and coming to visit you. Peace is due to you, indeed I intended you, hoping to have success with you. Peace is due to you like the peace of an acquainted with your sacredness, a devoted to your guardianship, a seeking God’s nearness by your friendship, and a freed from your enemies. A peace like the peace of the one whose heart is wounded for the sake of your disaster and his tears are shed by remembering you. Peace is due to you like the peace of an agonized, grieved, confused and miserable one. Peace is due to you like the peace of the one that if he were with you would take care of you against sharp swords with his insignificant soul. And
He would generously spend his last-spark-of-life to help you against those who oppressed you. And would redeem his soul, body, wealth and son to sacrifice his soul for your soul and support his people for your people. But if a long period of time postponed me and the destiny prevented me to help you, and I was not there to fight against those who fight you and declare animosity with those who set up animosity with you; surely I feel deep sorrow for you every morning and evening and instead of weeping tears, I weep blood. As a result of the anxiety of distress and the depression of regret and sorrow happened to you I would die.
The comparison between those who pretended they are alien to the Imam Hussein (AS) and deliberately disregarded his essential nature, characters and virtues, with those who were absolutely faithful to him by their knowledge is absolutely beyond imagination.
While a genuine Imam can only evaluate the real value of another genuine Imam, ordinary people, by no means, have any right to kill him, because they commit three big mistakes by killing a genuine Imam, opposition with God, hostility with himself, and enmity with other creatures. And if human beings wish to keep their summit humanity and find eternity by God, they should be annihilated in God and be molded with God’s nature. And this cannot be made unless strict following of those whom God has sent with love and warmth.
Allah, the Most High made human beings incomplete through His far-reaching wisdom. Through the very same wisdom He sent Devine authorities to move them out from darkness of ignorance to the light of guidance and drive them from wandering to integrity. Therefore by the same very wisdom He ordered them to warmly love His authorities. But when most people not conscious even interested in their own benefits kill these authorities, they bring about not only lots of moral presser over authorities’ supporters but a deadly life for themselves as well.
To typify his distinguished characters, the Imam Mahdi (AS) represents him this way:
I bear witness that you performed the ritual prayers, gave alms, commanded all fairness, forbade all forbidden and hostilities; obeyed God without disobeying Him, held fast His rope, pleased but feared Him; observed by complying with Him, prescribed all traditions, extinguished all temptations, called to the integrity of conduct, made clear the correct ways, and strove precisely for God.
You obeyed God, followed your grand father Mohammad, peace be upon him and his family; heard your father’s word, hurried your brother’s advice, raised religious pillars, suppressed the cruel, knocked despots, advised the nation, praised God at death agonies, fought against the wicked, stood by God’s proofs, had mercy upon Islam and Muslims, helped the creature, was patient when afflicted, protected religion and defended its territory.
While knowing it thoroughly, you take care of guidance; while spreading it, you extend justice; while displaying it, you assist religion; and while preventing it, you hold back the frivolous.
You took the rights of low-born from high-born, and kept the balance judge between strong and week. You were a good source for touching orphans with love, protecting people, honoring Islam, and being the origin of decisions and related blessings. You were a good disciple of your grand father and father, and legal guardian like your brother of covenant fulfiller, pleasing characters, revealing generosity, awakening for night prayers, raising good manners, distinguished creatures, great antecedents, high-born genealogy, excellent pedigree, high-leveled rank, numerous virtues, praised natures, and plenty of talents.
He was a rightly guided patient, open-handed repentant, strong informed, martyr leader, mourning repentant, and an awesome friend.
While you were diligent in obedience, custodian in pledge and covenant, swerving from the wicked ways, and making every effort; you were to the prophet, peace be upon him and his family, as a son, to the Qur'an as a back, and to the people as a hand. Your kneeling and prostration were long. As a renounced traveler looking at this world like desolate people, your expectations from it were restricted, and your ambition from its ornament was removed, and your looks at its beauty was shoveled, but your desire for the hereafter was well-known.
But when injustice extended its arm and oppression left its frugality, and trespassing called its followers while you were resident in your grand father’s Holy place, away from oppressors but you were a sitter at home and prayer- niche, withdrawn from passions and pleasures, ignoring abomination by heart and tongue, according to your capability and possibility. Thus your knowledge made it necessary to deny the wicked and strive against them. As a result, you moved with your children, household, followers, and friends, and came out openly with truth and evidence. So you called people to Allah with wisdom and excellent advice, and commanded them to perform with the framework of God’s limits and obey Him, and forbade them from evils and tyranny. But they faced you with oppression and animosity, so you fight after giving them many advices and emphasizing all proofs against them.
According to the word of Allah in the following revelation, Imam Hussein (AS) did not omit any issue to convince his opponents. And on many occasions, specifically on the day Ashoora, he pointed out that surely they will have serious penalties if they will not accept his benevolent advices.
“Call to the way of your Lord with wisdom and excellent advice and argue with them in the best possible way. “ 16: 125
From the beginning to the last minute of his dangerous trip, Imam Hussein (AS) made his ultimate efforts to make clear the truths for his own people as well as those who come later. He made many statements to display his faith and intention and make clear the purpose of his bloody movement. Therefore through his martyrdom, he frankly revealed the misleading measures of the so-called Islamic government to establish the reality of Islam.
1-His first guiding point to the governor of Madina was this.
I am one of the household of prophecy, the source of mission, a place for angels to come and go frequently, and Allah began the world and will end it through us. And the one like me will never make allegiance with Yazid who is a wicked man, alcohol drinker, soul killer and wickedness advertiser. But wait until tomorrow to see in the eye of public which one of us is more entitled for allegiance and caliphate.
2-when Marvah met Imam Hussein (AS) to advise him that making allegiance with Yazid would be in his benefit. Imam (AS) made this statement, ‘it is an end for Islam when a nation is put into a test by a shepherd like Yazid.
3-when Imam wanted to leave Medina for Mecca, visited his grand father’s tomb and said, ‘Peace is due to you O the messenger of Allah! I am Hussein, the son of Fatema, your male bird and the son of your female bird, your grand son whom you substituted for your nation. I bear witness against them that not only they failed to protect me but humiliated and forfeited me and this is my complaint to you until I will meet you.
4-and this is what Imam Hussein (AS) advised his brother known as Mohammad Hanafieh. Indeed Hussein bears witness that there is no god but Allah, and no associate for Him, and truly Mohammad is His servant and messenger coming really from God. In fact, the Paradise and Fire are true and there is no doubt about the coming Hour, and Allah will resurrect the dead from tombs. Actually I did not get out for liveliness, vanity, corruption and oppression, but I left to correct the nation of my grand father, peace is due to him and his family, and command all fairness and forbid all forbidden and move on the course of my grand father and father, Ali the son of Abi-Taleb. Those who accept me should know that Allah is the most entitled for truths and He is the best of all judges.
And there is no success but through Allah; while trusting in Him, I return to Him in repentance.
5- This is one his sermons displaying the main reasons of his movement.
O Allah! Surely you know that it is not right for us either to compete mutually for gaining authority or resort for the excess of vanities of this life but to demonstrate the characteristics of your religion, disclose restoration in your towns, provide security for your oppressed servants, and put into operation your religious duties, traditions, and by-laws. If you do not help us and do not agree that we are righteous, strong oppression will overcome you, and extinguish your prophet’s light. Allah suffices us, in Him we return, to Him we return in repentance, and to Him only we return.
6-When Imam Hussein (AS) was compelled to leave Mecca before performing his ritual pilgrimage, he made the following sermon implying the following three purposes: To reveal another angle of the crimes of Omayyad, and display that the Lord God has not predestinated but anticipated his martyrdom by Omayyad, and make known his sincere devotion to Allah . Disregarding the sacredness of God’s House, Yazid had planned secretly to kill Imam Hussein (AS) during the performance of ritual pilgrimage and make his killing too lightly. But Imam Hussein (AS) wanted to keep its sacredness, so he left before being killed in the House of God, and said, ‘All praise is due to Allah, whatever God pleases will be done, and there is no power but by God, and God’s blessing be upon His messenger. The strip death of Adam’s children is attached to them as it is to the neck-less of young girls, and what makes me desiring to see my forefathers is like Jacob’s desire to see Joseph. The death place is designated for me, and I am coming to meet it. It looks to me as if the desert wolves dismember me between Navamis and Karbala, and fill their empty stomachs and hunger traveling-bags from me, and there is no escape from what has been anticipated for me. Our household’s pleasure will be God’s pleasure. If we endure His trial, He will pay us in full the dues of the patient. We are part of the prophet’s body never separated from him. He will be delighted from their meeting while his promise will be fulfilled in Paradise.
Those who want to spend blood-life freely for us and choose seeing Allah can come with us and, God willing, we will set out to morrow morning.

At different resting-places, Imam (AS) made various sermons demonstrating his serious decision to stand against oppression and injustice at any cost. Not to be lengthy, some of them will be produced.
7-At the middle of his journey, when Imam (AS) was stopped by Hurr and his army, he made this, ’O people! I did not come to you unless after receiving your successive letters telling me that you have no spiritual leader to guide you on the right path, and you wish that Allah may guide you to the real truth through me. If you keep your words, assure me by your positive promises, if not, and you hate my coming, I will return to my place.
8-When Imam (AS) reached an area whose name was Karbala but he did not know, and he asked. Knowing that it was Karbala, he said, ‘O Allah! God save me from affliction and anxiety (Karb& Bala), he then added, ‘This is the place of our affliction and anxiety. Come down because it is our destination, the place of our blood-shed, and the place of our tombs as my grand father, the messenger of Allah has reported to me, so come down altogether,
8-After setting up his troupe in Karbala, Imam (AS) made this sermon for both groups, ‘No to our topic, just now has come to us a circumstance that you see. This world has indeed changed, alienated, and turned its goodness back, and nothing from it is left but a little water at the end of a container, and a miserable life in pernicious grassland. When you see that the truth is not put into operation, and the falsehood is not prohibited, a faithful is entitled to meet his Lord. In such a case I do not see the death but prosperity and the life with oppressors but annoyance. People are slave of the world, religion just licks their tongues, because they only watch over what accrue their wealth, but the devoted will be so few, when they put into the test.
9-Imam Hussein (AS) responded to the foolish manner of thought of those who presented godless Yazid, like the son of Ziad, as a commander of the faithful, this way, ‘Truly that bastard the son of bastard fixed me firmly between tow things, unconditional submission and drawing sword. Such kind of submission for us is absolutely out of question, and God and His messenger absolutely reject this for us.
10-Before doing anything else right after putting his troop in order against enemy, Imam (AS) made his soothing and earnest call to display Allah is his first and last resort. Implicitly he wanted to demonstrate how compassionate he is to his companions for increasing their trust in Allah. “O Allah! At any distress you are my confidence, and you are my hope at any perplexity, and to me you are my equipment and confidence when whatever command comes to me. How much concern in which the heart gets flabby, devices grow less, friend forsakes me and enemy rejoice. While I reject others and you are my desire, I bring my concern and complain to you only. Thus distract and remove my concern because you are the Master of all blessings, the Possessor of all good deeds, the Ultimate of all desires, and the Provider of all needs.
11-Before fight burst into flame, Imam Hussein (AS) shouted his ultimatum and fair demand to be heard by all and said, ‘O people hear my voice and do not rush to kill me until I advise what you have right upon me by telling you the reason of my coming here. If you accepted my excuse and considered my word, and upheld justice upon me, you would be prosperous, and there would be no way upon me against you. But if you did not accept my excuse nor did you uphold justice by your own accord, then you and your associate think about your affair until it is not dubious to you, have it then executed upon me without delay. Truly my Sponsor is Allah who sent the Book by truth, and take care of the righteous. 10: 71
12-As you might know Imam Hussein (AS) delivered many sermons on the day of Ashoora to remind opponents that he had no fear to be killed but it was his duty to warn them they were taking an outrageous risk to kill him. Through killing me you openly prove you are obstinate people giving no dignity whatever to Allah for several reasons:
A-You must not kill any one whom Allah has prohibited except for the truth. 17: 33
B-you must give animals water to drink before killing them for food, and get Allah’s permission for killing them by expressing “in the name of Allah most Gracious most merciful”.
C- You must have put aside massacre in this sacred month but you did not, and by this you are overtaking the pre-Islamic paganism and the state of ignorance. In pre-Islamic era pagans stopped killing and plundering, while disregarding all necessary dues, you are going massacre me, my companions and family and plunder my wealth in the month of Moharram.
And this is his last sermon addressed to his enemies:
“People ask you regarding fight in the sacred months, say, ‘Fight within them is a grave sacrilege. 2: 217
All praise is due to Allah who created this world but as a temporal and vanishing world whose people are continuously exposed to changes after changes. The arrogant are whom it has deceived and the wicked are whom it has allured. Thus let not this world deceive you, because it cuts off the hope of those who rely on it and frustrates the ambition of those who wishes for it, and I see you came together to commit an order of which you make Allah angry to turn away His Generosity from you, send His vengeance upon you, and keep you away from His Mercy. What an excellent Lord is our Lord and what evil people you are, because you acknowledged obeying Allah will and believing His messenger. But you rushed the army to his progeny and family willing to kill them. Indeed, the Satan has overwhelmed you, so you have forgotten to remember Allah. May perish befall upon you! What do you want to do? Indeed, we are from Allah, and to Him we return. There you are disbelieving people, and away with Allah’s Mercy from the oppressing people.
Violating your right and pledge of your allegiance, they enraged your Lord and grand father, and started fighting you, but you firmly stood against all criticisms and strikes and crushed their wicked armies by bursting into pipes of dust and fighting with double-edged sword like Ali Mukhtar. Realizing you are self-possessed, fearless, and without anxiety; they applied their dangerous trickeries and killed you through their plot and mischief. That is the cursed ordered his army to keep you from water and prevent you to come into the river. They fulfilled fighting you and hurried to catch up with you. They pelted arrows and pointers to you, and extended their oppressing hands without observing your right and minding about perpetrating sin against you. While bearing troubles, you were in front of the swirl of dust so that angels got surprised of your patience. Not only they killed your friends, plundered your baggage, and weakened you by suffering wounds, they surrounded you by all sides, and made the soul inaccessible to you. When having no more friends, expecting reward patiently, and defending your children and women, they turned you down from horse and fell down on earth fully wounded. Horses trampled you with new hoofs, and tyrants exceeded by cutting wounds, so death dump appeared on your face, and the right and left of your body alternatively expanded and contracted, but you were thinking about your survivors.
When your women saw his winning, crying, and chasing horse coming toward tents ashamed with its distorted saddle; they suddenly came out from tents to rush to your death-site with their faces beaten, loud lament, hairs unkempt, and humiliated after being honored. Approaching to the death spot and seeing that Shemr was rushing to kill Imam (AS) was a heart-rending situation for everybody specially Zeinab his sister. Depicting her condition should be like this: When hard-hearted Shemr came to the scene to kill Hussein, I lost my hope from him. As he was running to the killing spot, I was running to the killer. As he was sitting on his chest, I was sitting across him too. As he was drawing the sharp dagger, I was sighing too. He was cutting Hussein’s head, and I was cutting my hope from him.
When Imam (AS) fell down, Shemr immediately dared to move and get close to kill Imam. He sat on your chest, while his dagger licking your throat, he grasped your gray hairs and slaughtered you. So your feelings reposed, your soul disappeared, your head went on a spear. Right away your family became captive fettered with chains, mounted on the hump of riding animals, were driven in waterless disserts, while the warmth of mid-day heat scorching their faces, they were roamed through bazaars.
Woe to tyrants! They killed Islam by killing you, left prayers and fasting ideal, violated all traditions and verdicts, demolished faith’s principals, distorted Quranic revelations, and in an easy gait they applied injustice and animosity. Since you were apparently defeated, and the truth was betrayed, and the book of Allah was obsolete, the messenger of Allah became blood avenger. By your loss all glorification, exultation, prohibition, dissolution, revelation, and interpretation were missed; while all changes, alterations, atheism, suspension, inclinations, errors, temptations, and vanities became visible.
A reporter of your death stood at the tomb of your grand father said with heavy tears, ‘O the messenger of Allah! Your grand son, the youth, family and protectors were killed while it was deemed lawful. And your captivated progeny fell into trouble. The alarmed Prophet cried with his frightful heart, and angels and prophets expressed their sympathy. Your mother became distressed, and the nearest army of angels passed over upon your father to express their sympathy, and meanwhile a mourning session established in the high heaven and the white-eye slapped themselves, the heaven and its dwellers, the Paradise and its door-keepers, high-lands and their skirts, seas and their fish, paradise and its youth, the Sacred Mosque and its locations, and all in all wept over him.
O Allah! By the sacredness of this outstanding place bless Mohammad and his family, resurrect me among them, and admit me into Paradise by their intersession. O Allah! I resort to you O the fastest Reckoning, O the most Generous, O the wisest Judges, by the truth of Mohammad, the seal of the prophets, your messenger to the whole world, his brother and cousin, mostly depleted of whims but fully laden of knowledge, Ali, the Commander of the faithful; by the truth of Fatemah, the lady of all woven in the whole world, by the truth of Hassan, the pure and protector of the devoted, by the truth of Hussein, the most distinguished of martyrdom seekers, his killed progeny and oppressed family, by the truth of Ali the son of Hussein, the beauty of worshippers and the master of prostrators and the leader of the cognizant, by the truth of Mohammad the son of Ali, the target of all frequent returnees and the splitter of all prophets’ knowledge, by the truth of Jafar the son of Mohammad, the most reliable of all truthful, by the truth of Mussa the son of Jafar, the proof revealer, by the truth of Ali the son of Mussa, the scholar of Mohammad’s family, by the truth of Mohammad the son of Ali, the model to all rightly guided, by the truth of Ali the son of Mohammad, the most devoted of all devoted, by the truth of Hassan the son of Ali, the inheritor of his successors, and by the truth of the proof for all creatures, Allah’s last remnant, bless Mohammad and the truthful and most dutiful of Taha and Yassin family, and set me on the Resurrection Day among the peaceful, the confident, the successful, the delightful, and the cheerful.
O Allah! Put me down among submitters, join me to the righteous, put my sincere tongue among the last, help me against the unjust, save me from the envious’ plan, hold back oppressors’ hands from me, and by your Mercy, O the most Merciful! Gather me in the uppermost high with the masters of the fortunate among those whom you have blessed such as prophets, the truthful, martyrs, and the righteous.
O Allah! I swear to you through your innocent prophet, the imposed verdict and hidden ban of yours, and this tomb collected and paved with the sponsorship of the innocent, killed and oppressed Imam to remove all my grief, turn away the evil from my inevitable destiny, and protect me from the fire of hot windstorm.
O Allah! Honor me with your blessing, please me with your share, cover me with your liberality and generosity, and let me be away from your trickery and vengeance.
O Allah! Protect me against mistakes, direct me in word and deed, expand the period of my deadline, exempt me from pains and sickness, and through your grace make me reach my masters and my best expectations.
O Allah! Through blessing Mohammad and his family, admit my repentance, have mercy upon my tears, belittle my false slips, relieve my anxiety, forgive my misdeed and adjust my progeny.
O Allah! I am asking you earnestly in such a gorgeous scene of martyrdom and honored site, to leave for me no sin but forgive it, no defect but cover it, no grief but remove it, no daily bread but enlarge it, no dignity but thrive it, no corruption but adjust it, no hope but reach it, no call but respond it, no difficulty but release it, no unity but bring it together, no affair but complete it, no wealth but increase it, no character but improve it, no spending but compensate it, no status but flourish it, no jealous but suppress him, no enemy but knock him down, no evil but suffice it, no sickness but cure it, no distant but bring it near, no disorder but restore into order, and no question but answer it.
O Allah! I ask you for the best in this world and good reward in the hereafter.
O Allah! Through your lawful things make me free from the unlawful and by your Grace make me free from mankind.
O Allah! I ask you for a useful knowledge, a humble heart, a healing certitude, a pure action, patience with appreciation, and abundant reward.
O Allah! Provide me with tanking your blessing, increase your kindness and generosity, have my word heard by people and my deed before yourself raised, and let the impact of my good deeds be followed, and make my enemy suppressed.
O Allah! All day and night long bless Mohammad and his family, protect me from the evil of the wicked, purify me from the heavy load of sins, save me from the fire, settle me in the hereafter, and through your mercy, O the most Merciful forgive me and all of my Muslim sisters and brothers.
This following call supported by the words of Allah is required by performing a tow-unit prayer after this Ziarat.
There is no god but Allah, the Patient, the Generous. There is no god but Allah, the Highest, the Greatest. There is no god but Allah, the Lord of the seven heavens and seven earths and what are between and in them. Contrary to His enemies, and denying him who makes equal to Him, I acknowledge His Lordship, and yield to His Might; He is the Foremost before any one and the Last after any one. By His Power, He is visible in everything; and through His Grace and Knowledge, He is the true nature of everything without being any part of it. Neither intelligence can catch the Essence of His Splendor, nor do impressions realize His true Nature, nor do minds conceive the concepts of His real qualities. The word of the 8th Imam (AS) and this piece of poem may explain the idea more clearly. Imam Reza (AS) said, ‘Tell me about your mirror picture. Are you in the mirror, or the mirror picture is within you?
As with the light which is either separated or not from the sun, the whole world is the sign of God but is not God. Though we are a ray of the truth, we are both Him and not Him, as with the light which is either separated or not from the sun. Searching everywhere, it seems to us an invisible witness, therefore it can’t be said where He is and where is not. Looking at your picture in a mirror, do you think the mirror picture is you or not? In fact, this non-existence showing existence, in your and our opinion means both existence and non-existence. Dropping the divine soul from a dirt-body, some believe in annihilation and some don’t. Whatever decision He wants, He will make for us, whether it pleases us or not. Thinking well, we may say, complaining about a friend’s oppression is wrong or not. There is no dear-say to reveal that why there is or not His generosity and harshness upon foe and friend. Both unkindness and kindness from partner upon Ebrat, I do not know why it is and is not.

Being well-informed of minds and well-acquainted of consciences, He knows the treacherous eyes and what minds conceal. 40: 19
Insights are not able to realize Him but He realizes all insights for He is Clear-Sighted, All-Knowing. 6: 103
Considering how water takes its level at any time and position, Imam Hussein (AS) describes his Lord this way, ‘O He who is leveled through His Mercifulness and the Throne of His authority is invisible within His Essence! You wipe out tracks by tracks and eliminate aliens by surrounding the orbits of lights. O He who is hidden within the pavilions of His Throne in order that ordinary insights realize Him, O you who manifest to the most beautifully so that the Majesty of your levelness turns to be true! How are you concealed while you are clearly visible, and how are you absent while you are ready-supervisor? Indeed, you have Power over everything, and all praise is due to you only.

O Allah! Truly I call upon You as a witness to my belief in your messenger
(Allah blesses him and hid family), and my faith in him and my knowledge of his dignity. I truly bear witness that the prophet uttered wisdom through your Grace, and prophets invited to acknowledge of what come with him, and urged to believe in him.
As with the word of the most High says, ‘the prophet is the one whom they find a written note with themselves in the Old and New-Testament, who enjoins them good things and forbids evils, make for them the pure lawful and the impure unlawful, and removes their burden and shackles which were upon them.
Thus bless Mohammad, your messenger to all humans and Jinn and the master of the chosen prophets with an everlasting blessing to the number of the drops of drizzle and what burst into leaf and to the weight of mountains and hills. And include your blessing to his brother and cousin Ali that they never ever associated anything with Allah, and Fatema the lady of all women in the world, Hassan and Hussein, the master of the youth of Paradise, as well as his pure family, the rightly guided Imams, and religious protectors Ali and Mohammad and Jafar and Mussa and Ali and Mohammad and Ali and Hassan and his grandson progeny, the proof standing with justice.
O Allah! By the truth of this Imam, I ask you for an easy release, a calm patience, a powerful victory, self-sufficiency from creature, consistency in guidance, good-luck in what you please and love, and a large, lawful, pleasant, wholesome, rich, tasty, excessive and preferred means of living neither with hardship or adversity nor obligation to anyone.
O Allah! I ask you be exempted from all kinds of sickness and let me give thanks for all blessings and well-beings. O the most Merciful please at our death hold our best obedience which you had ordered to keep for the sake of conveying us to the blissful Garden by your mercy.
O Allah! By blessing Mohammad and his family, have me fear this world and make me familiar with the world to come. Truly those who fear you would feel anxiety from this world, and those having hope in you are familiar with the hereafter.
O Allah! All proofs are for you not against you, and complains are toward you not against you.
O Allah! By blessing Mohammad and his family, help me against my oppressing and sinful soul, and predominant lust to be concluded in well-being.
O Allah! Truly my seeking forgiveness is duly to you for persisting in doing what you have prohibited by my shamelessness, and for omitting forgiveness because of my experience of your far-reaching patience that you never forfeit the right of the hopeful.
O Allah! Truly my sins make me desperate to be hopeful, while my experience of your large-scale patience prevents me to fear you; by blessing Mohammad and his family, show my hope in you is true and show my fear from you is false, and let me have the best opinion about you, O the Most Generous.
O Allah! Bless Mohammad and his family, and support my modesty, make me talk nothing but wisdom, and put me of those who regret fore what they forfeited yesterday, are not cheated for today good-luck, and do not care about tomorrow livelihood.
O Allah! Truly those who are in dire need of you but seek wealth through you are true wealthy, while the really poor are those who seek wealth only through your creature instead of you. Thus bless Mohammad and his family and suffice me from your creatures by yourself, and put me of those who do not extend their helping hand to anyone but you.
O Allah! The actual miserable are truly desperate, because both repentance and mercy are there in front and beyond them but they make no effort.
O Allah! If I am feeble-act in obeying you, I have strong desire-force for your Mercy, thus for the sake of my strong desire-force, grand me a strong desire-force instead of my feeble-act.
O Allah! Surely you know that no one is the most hardhearted and the greatest sinful than I am among your servants, I also do not know any master of greater degree of Power, Mercy and forgiveness than you; thus O He who is unique in mercy forgive him whose misdeed is not unique.
O Allah! Truly, you commanded but we disobeyed, you prohibited but we concluded, you reminded but we made each other forget, you made us insightful but we have one another blind, and you warned us but we exceeded. Returning to your kindness, it is not at all any right to do this.
In this regard, the Lord God has revealed like this, ‘Soon I will turn away My revelations from those who unduly take pride on earth for if they see every sign they will not believe. It means that if they the path of guidance, they will not adopt it as their path, but if they see the path of error, they will adopt it as their path. This is the consequence of their rejection and their negligence of our revelations.” 7: 146
While you have more knowledge of what we make known and keep secret, and you are more informed of what we bring and brought, bless Mohammad and his family, and do not blame us for what we made mistakes and forgot, thus grant us your dues, complete your kindness, and let us enjoy your Mercy.
O Allah! We implore you by this righteous Imam and ask you by the truth you have put upon him and his grandfather, your messenger and his parents, Ali and Fatema, the household of mercy to give us copious livelihood on which the basis of our life and the healthy status of our family depend. This is because you are that Generous in behavior to give from your vast capacity while holding back your Power. Therefore, we ask you a kind of daily bread to secure the proper condition of this life and be a conveyance for the life to come.
O Allah! By blessing Mohammad and his family, forgive us, our parents, all believing men and women, those to whom we are indebted either dead or alive, and give us the merits of this life and the hereafter and save us from the torment of Fire.
